Defying Gravity
Yesterday on short notice I went with my friends Christina, Melissa, and her Mom to see the Broadway show Wicked. I had read the book and let me tell you, this show is NOTHING like the book. Well, they got the gist of it and all...somewhat. They changed the ending. Anyway, the show was pretty freakin' AWESOME! My favorite songs are "Popular" and "Defying Gravity." If you ever make your way to NYC, then you MUST see this show.
But please, read the book. It's even better than the musical.

augh, I am SOOOOO jealous! I have been dying to see that show since it opened. I was a Gregory Maguire fan and read the book long before it opened on Broadway, and was psyched when I heard they were making a musical and became even more psyched when I found out that Stephen Schwartz was doing the music (I love his work). Le sigh ... someday I will get to see it.
@hipchick525600 - well then hop on the Vamoose Bus and meet me in NYC and we'll go together someday!!! (The bus is only $25 one way). Just a warning though...it is NOTHING Like the book. But it is still a really great show. ^_^ OH do please come up! You can stay with ME! ^__^
I'm well aware it's far removed from the book ... that's the nature of transposing from one medium to another. The question is finding the time and the $$$ to go ...
... and since I know that Wicked itsn't going to close any time soon and there are other shows I want to see that I know are going to close, I'm more likely to go see something else first.
@hipchick525600 - Well, you just need to get your butt up here so that we can take Broadway by storm!
