I've been having fun watching my flowers grow this year. Mostly because my sunflowers and morning glories I had planted as seeds. The rest were either gifts from friends or bought from the nursery already started for me. Yesterday my day lily opened its very first bloom and already I have 3 sunflower blossoms. I tried to get all artsy with the Sunflower. It started off as a mistake but then I had some fun with it. The above is the one I like best. Whatcha think?

Back in April when I had gone home for a wedding, I had spent the remainder of my free time visiting with friends. One of them being the Boles family. Little K's birthday was in just 2 weeks and boy did she know it. Her favorite toy are those Littlest Petshop bobble heads. While showing me her growing collection, she said "Lydia, do you know where you can get some?" "Where?" "You can get them in Wal-Mart! In the Toy section! Isn't that Amazing!!" With a big smile and a hearty laugh, I agreed. After returning to the North I made my way not to Wal-Mart but to Target's Toy Section and purchased a two-pack of tiny animal bobble heads. Unfortunately for Little K, I did not mail it right away. In fact, I mailed it on June 27. An entire month and a half had passed by then but no worries. Early this week she received her gift. When my dad was telling me the story he said "You got her 2 that she didn't already have! I didn't even know that was possible! Good Job!" Apparently I hit gold with Little K.
